This is the seminar required to become a referee. We will go over foil epee and saber- proper technique and theory. This seminar is helpful to any fencer parent or fan.
Learn and understand the finer points of fencing!
Justin Meehan presents the official USA Fencing referee seminar. This 8 hour course covers rules, regulations, and finer points of epee, foil, and saber in a manner helpful to competitive fencers, beginners, parents, and fans. Seminar includes powerpoint presentation, live fencing demonstration, and hands on activities. One hour lunch break- bring a bag lunch or there are three restaurants within walking distance- Subway, Talay Thai, and Di-Tazza gourmet coffee and pastries. Referee candidates are advised to review the study guide on usafencing.org and bring questions regarding the guide to better prepare to take the referee tests. Justin Meehan has trained and mentored referees that have gone on to work at the highest levels.
Observational event is being held the next day (7/13) if you compete in the event your entry to the event and your observation is free, if you want to just be observed and not compete it is an additional $20 per weapon.
