You will learn a lot, while having fun and meeting great fellow coaches.

This is a core NCDP clinic, approved by the United States Fencing Coaches Association. Start your next level of certification.

  2. Bring paper, pen, markers, notebooks.
  3. Bring your ideas and practical exercises, to contribute to the clinic. What you know is important to everyone!

What will we be learning?

Here is some of our clinic content, but rest assured you will get much more!

                                                                                

  1. The individual lesson. Definition, types and purpose.
  2. How to use the individual lesson in different moments of the preparation cycle.
  3. What to teach in different stages of development?
  4. How to build your fencing lesson?: beginning, development, closing.
  5. Practical exercises for warming up during the lesson.
  6. Lesson progression.
  7. Cues for individual lessons: Hand, arm, body position of the Maestro.
  8. Communicating with your student with respect: corrections, position adjustments.


Practical exercises and examples:

  1. Attack and defense
  2. Direct and indirect actions explained in the lesson.
  3. More complex actions in the lesson.
  4. Reviewing cues and response from the student.
  5. Lesson closing.
  6. Practice practice, practice!


If you are working towards your certification as a fencing coach, this is your place!
