Intermediate Sabre

Prepare for the new season with Coach Chris Cheney at RFC! For Sabre fencers who have had at least 6 months of training and are ready to take it up a notch.

9AM - 12PM, Monday - Friday.

All registrations include Intermediate Sabre Practice from 4:30PM - 6PM on Monday, Thursday, and a special addition of Friday practice.

ABOUT COACH CHENEY:

Chris Cheney is 2x team national champion and is currently a professional coach and program consultant for multiple saber clubs. Chris has 10 years of professional coaching experience including six years owning and running a successful saber program in Nashville, Tennessee that produced multiple state and regional champions, national medalists, and internationally competitive athletes. 

In addition to coaching, Chris is a professional referee on the international, national and NCAA circuit. He has refereed numerous finals at US National Champions and Junior Olympics as well as the finals of multiple NCAA championships, ACC Championships, Canadian nationals, and FIE Junior world cups.

He has been a coach at Tim Morehouse Fencing, providing support in all roles from operations and logistics to tournament coaching and parent consulting, and was an athlete mentor for multiple national champions and a world championship medalist in 2021 and 2022. Prior to his tenure at TMFC, Chris also coached at MidSouth Fencers Club in North Carolina and Durkan Fencing in New Jersey where he was a training partner for multiple national team members. 

Chris finds his love of fencing in the logic of the fight and the aesthetic of the technique and finds joy in sharing this passion.
