Schools out for the summer! Come by the Saved By the Bell friendly tournament to kick off summer 2024 with a fun youth and teen competition at Davis Fencing Academy of Miami. This is our first tourney in the new fencing hall, with six Olympic-length strips on a floating wood floor and brand new Favero scoring machines.

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. This is a friendly 'E and Under' tournament. Many students are competing for their very first or second time.
  2. If you are looking for a more competitive tournament, please see the Sunshine State Games at the Miami Convention Center.

Join us for the Saved by the Bell youth-friendly (épée-only tournament)

Épée events to include:

  1. Youth 8 (Mixed)
  2. Youth 10 (Mixed)
  3. Youth 12 (Mixed)
  4. Youth 14 (Mixed)
  5. Under-19 (Mixed, Combined)

*Medals will be awarded to fencers who finish first, second, and tied for third. Trophy will go to first place finisher.

**Individual events with less than 6 may be combined with another age category (which may be at another time). For example, if Y8 has 5 fencers, and Y10 has 5, this may result in a Y8/Y10 combined event.

Who is running the tournament?

Jeff and Jacquelyn Davis (Owners, Davis Fencing Academy of Miami)

Coach Davis is proud to host the first fencing tournament in our beautiful new fencing salle, which includes six Olympic-length strips on a floating wood floor with top-of-the-line Favero scoring machines. DFAM started in November 2022, with the mission of increasing interest, widening access, and deepening knowledge in the sport of fencing throughout South Florida. In this mission, Jeff and Jacquelyn have launched numerous programs and events, introduced the sport to hundreds of people, started a Miami Beach location, and opened a dedicated fencing hall...one of few in the State of Florida.

What else should I know for this event?

Fencing, like many martial arts, is built on the principle of Respect. Be respectful to organizers, facilities, and participants, and you will be welcomed at this event and future events.

Organizers will follow Rules of Conduct in alignment with USA Fencing policies. Anti-sporting behavior, and offenses against sportsmanship, will be awarded Warning and Black cards, respectively. This applies to ALL in attendance, participants, coaches, and spectators alike.
