Recurve / Longbow archery competition plus wireless electric Epee and Foil 'in-the-round' competitions. Competitions are outside in a grass field. AAU membership required.
Due to our host having a bad cold, we are moving the date to December 14..

*** A competitor does not have to compete in both events to participate in this tournament. However 18+yo competitors must be AAU members in each of the sports they plan to participate in, (AAU Fencing and AAU Archery). Under 18yo need only be an AAU member in one sport. ALL COMPETITORS MUST BE AAU MEMBERS.
*** Minimum age for epee or foil competition is 13 years old. Minimum age for archery competition is 10 years old. Competitors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
***IMPORTANT: Participants must follow all orders and instructions from the archery range safety officer or they will be black carded and asked to leave.
Archery: Archery will be with target arrows.- You may bring your own recurve or longbow or use the range bow.- Arrows will be supplied.- Target will be 10 meters from firing line.- You will be given an opportunity to shoot 5 practice arrows prior to the scored round.- You will shoot 10 arrows into a target with 10 concentric rings. The outer ring is worth 1 point. The inner ring is worth 10 points. An arrow that 'breaks' the line between two rings will be scored at the higher level. The maximum score possible is 100.- An arrow that bounces off the target will be scored using the hole in the target. If there is no hole that arrow will be scored a zero.- A misfire may be re-shot ONLY if the arrow falls within the reach of the competitor. If the competitor would have to leave the firing line to reach the arrow that shot will be scored as zero.- You will have a maximum of 5 minutes to shoot the scored target.
Fencing: Epee and Foil fencing will be electric scored and fenced 'in the round' a 10 meter diameter circle using our wireless scoring system.- Format is round robin of 5 touch bouts. Other than the round robin and 'in-the-round' changes the other Fencing League of America (based on FIE) rules apply.- We are fencing outside in the grass.- WEAR SHOES WITH GOOD TREAD - FENCING SHOES ARE TOO SLIPPERY!
We will be grilling hotdogs and depending on weather conditions having a bonfire. Come have a fun day in the country with us!
AAU membership is required. Get your AAU membership here: www.aausports.org. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO ORDER YOUR MEMBERSHIP. IT TAKES A FEW DAYS TO GO THROUGH.
Photography and Video: Both photos and video will be taken of some of the bouts. Some of those recordings may be posted on our website for you to watch later.

▪ AAU membership may not be included as part of the entry fee to the event.
▪ AAU membership must be obtained before the competition begins except where the event operator has a laptop available with an internet connect. Participants are encouraged to visit the AAU web site www.aausports.org to obtain their membership.

With entry you give consent to FENCERS OF THE CORN FENCING CLUB to obtain medical care from any licensed physician, hospital or clinic for any injury or illness that may arise during activities associated with this tournament. **
*** PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE - By registering for this tournament you agree and hereby consent to the recording of statements, photographs, and/or audio or video recordings taken of the Minor or you by FENCERS OF THE CORN FENCING CLUB or its contractors. All statements, photographs, and/or audio or video recordings taken of the Minor or you by FENCERS OF THE CORN FENCING CLUB or its contractors, shall be the sole property of FENCERS OF THE CORN FENCING CLUB. Neither the Minor nor you shall receive any compensation in connection with use of these statements, photographs, and/or audio or video recordings for promotional, commercial or other purposes. On behalf of the Minor and yourself, you hereby release, waive and discharge any claims of any kind or nature arising out of or relating to the use of the statements, photographs, and/or audio or video recordings against FENCERS OF THE CORN FENCING CLUB or any person or firm authorized by FENCERS OF THE CORN FENCING CLUB to publish said materials ("Publisher"), Such release, waiver and discharge shall also extend to all affiliated companies, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns of FENCERS OF THE CORN FENCING CLUB and any Publisher. This Release shall be binding upon the Minor and yourself, and any respective successors, heirs, assigns, executors, administrators, spouse and next of kin.
COACHES' EDUCATION: The AAU is happy to make available FREE Coaches' Education for all AAU non-athlete members. This program is administered by Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA).
