11 Invited Schools(Expanded List):
These events are open only to freshmen from Butler, Columbia, Hackettstown, Livingston, Mendham, Morristown, Morris Hills, Morris Knolls, Randolph, West Essex and West Morris Central High Schools. This is not a USFA tournament. This tournament is sanctioned by the New Jersey Interscholastic Fencing Association www.njifa.org.

Women's Freshman Sabre
Men's Freshman Sabre
Women's Freshman Foil
Men's Freshman Foil
Women's Freshman Epee
Men's Freshman Epee
Tournament Format:
Pools of 5, 6 or 7 fencers, with 80% promoted to the direct elimination table. DEs are best 2 out of 3 five-touch bouts. Fence-off for third place. Engraved medals to all quarterfinalists or top 8 finishers. Consolation round in each event for those not promoted to DEs and possibly those eliminated in first round of DEs, depending on size of event.
Referees:
Juniors and Seniors from the 11 particpating schools are required to referee. They will work the pools and the rounds of 32 and 16 in the DEs and the consolation rounds. Juniors and Seniors who don't feel comfortable refereeing will help with scorekeeping. Paid, USFA-rated referees will work the quarterfinals thru the finals. Referees should indicate their availability to work the tournament by emailing Roger Jones, Tournament Director, at hocsoc78@aol.com.

Registrations will be taken only online via FRED. No payment necessary. Your school will pay later.
Fencers, not coaches, should register themselves.
No walk-in registrations accepted.
Registration closes on Monday, December 21, 2009.
If you represent a fencing club in the USFA, choose your high school as your Secondary Club Affiliation in the 'EDIT PROFILE' section under 'MyFRED'. If you don't, choose your high school as your primary club. All 11 schools invited to the tournament are set-up in FRED. Mendham is listed as Mendham HS, not West Morris Mendham HS.
