2026 Minnesota State Team Relay

Use school or club names. Made up names cannot be accepted as it will cause confusion for Bout Committee.
Total fee per team is $100. Individual fencers do not need to each register. Coaches will register the team and assign the fencers to a team.

Eligibility
Fencers are eligible for this tournament if all of the following are true:
- Fencer has fenced in one of the 2026 MN high school qualifier tournaments (NYX, SPA, Cupids Arrow tournaments)
- Fencer can only fence on a team for the weapon(s) you qualified for with one exception. For 2026 season only, if you have fenced a qualifier for Epee or Foil, then you are allowed to fence on a Sabre team
- Fencer lives in Minnesota or fences with a club or school located in Minnesota, or within 50 miles of the border
- Fencer is in grades 7–12, and will be 12 years old by Jan 1, 2026
This is a non-sanctioned MN HS individual meet, so USA Fencing membership is not required.

Schedule
The schedule will be as listed on the "Who's Coming?" page.
Times are for the close of check-in and it might be adjusted due to how many fencers sign up when the registration closes. If you miss the close of the check-in time on the tournament day, you will not be allowed to fence even if you have already paid.

Registration and payment

Coaches must register via AskFRED (this website) prior to 11:59 PM on 2/23/2026. Check the “Who’s coming?” page to make sure your registration went through properly.
In general, there will be no refunds for people who pay in advance and do not show up. However, extenuating circumstances may be taken into account (e.g., snowstorms) and full or partial refunds may be issued after accounting for fixed costs such as awards and facilities.

Equipment rules
- All fencers must have knickers, socks that overlap the knickers,
- A jacket, an underarm protector, and a fencing glove. These items must be in good condition and free of holes.
- All weapons will be fenced electric, so each fencer will need a working weapon and a body cord as well as a lamé/etc. for foil and saber.
- For saber, 800NW (FIE) gloves are required.
- All women must have chest protectors; any chest protectors used by men or women in foil must have neoprene padding.
- Masks will be inspected. They must (1) be free of dents and defects (2) pass a punch test (3) have a working back strap (the new-style Velcro strap system is not required, but there must be a strap in good working condition, tight enough to secure the mask to the back of the head).
- Weights and shims will be inspected for foil and epee.
