Prescott Fall Classic 2007

Preregistration is now closed. Regular registration and check-in will open at the venue at 8:00 AM on both days. ANNOUNCEMENT: Armorer's Clinic Dan DeChaine, a world-famous armorer, will be teaching an armorer's clinic on Monday, September 3 at the Prescott Racquet Club. It will run from approximately 9:00 AM to noon, and will include lunch. The cost will be $25. There are a limited number of slots available for this very valuable clinic, so please make your reservation as soon as possible. We plan to run the event on at least six strips. Fencers must show proof of a USFA membership for the 2007 - 2008 season. Membership application forms will be available at the venue. Fencers unable to present proof of membership will be required to fill out a new registration form and submit payment (which will be refunded or cancelled as soon as membership is verified with the USFA national office). Tournament Fees: Registration (preregistered): $15 Registration (at the door): $20 Event: $10 Events Scheduled: These are the events that we have scheduled and each event's respective close of registration. Saturday Junior Foil - 9:00 AM Open Sabre - 9:00 AM Junior Sabre - 11:00 Women's Foil - 11:00 Open Foil - 1:00 Sunday: Junior Epee - 9:00 AM Y14/Y12 Foil - 11:00 AM Women's Epee - 11:00 AM Open Epee - 1:00 PM Format: The initial seeding for all events will be based on rating and year. All events will have one round of pools and 100% promotion to the direct elimination table. Hotel: The Quality Inn in Prescott offers a special rate of $99 per night for fencers and their families. This rate includes breakfast and a drink voucher. Events with fewer than six fencers preregistered may be cancelled at the organizers' discretion. Y12 and Y14 foil fencers will fence together. Fencers born between 1995 and 1998 are classified as Y12 fencers, and fencers born between 1993 and 1996 are classified as Y14 fencers. Medals will be awarded to Y12 and Y14 fencers separately. In consideration of the fencers traveling long distances, registration will close promptly at the times listed. Please plan to be at the venue at least 30 minutes before the close of registration for your event. Equipment check will consist of a visual inspection and 12kg punch test for masks prior to the start of each event, and weapons will be checked at the strip. Foil and epee weapons will be subjected to the 500g and 750g weight tests respectively, and epee weapons will be subjected to the point travel tests. Fencers who present non-working (in the case of weapons) or untested (in the case of masks) equipment to the referee at the strip will receive an applicable penalty card. All fencers will receive a free tournament t-shirt! Please be sure to note your size preference when preregistering. Preregistration will close at noon on August 31, 2007. New registrations will be accepted at the door (although there will be a $5 additional charge over the regular registration fee).
