SAME AS LAST YEAR: MINORS MUST HAVE A SIGNED WAIVER BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN! A University of Maryland policy this year requires that all minors (under the age of 18) bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Minors WILL NOT be permitted to fence in the absence of this waiver. We encourage you to bring this waiver (link above) with you to the event to give to the bout committee with your event fee. There will be copies available at the bout committee but we ask you to please have them ready before hand to expedite our registration process. Limit one event per day. **Pre-registration Fee (paid in advance, on FRED): $10 per fencer, PLUS Event Fees (paid at the door): First Event Fee: $35 if pre-registered, $70 if not Second Event Fee: $25 if pre-registered, $70 if not Graduate/Undergraduate College Students who pre-register get an additional $5 discount off each event fee. If you arrive after the close of registration, you may only fence at the discretion of the Bout Committee and you will be subject to additional fees. The format will be 1 round of pools with either 100% or 80% advancing to DE's. (100% advancing in events with fewer than 64 entries, 80% advancing in events with 64 or more entries) Pre-registration closes at midnight on 03/29/2012 There will be an equipment check, and it will be staffed by at least two armorers at all times (plus some volunteers at busy times). For those arriving early (or local) there will be an equipment check Friday night during set up starting around 7 pm Absolute Fencing Gear will be on Site at the tournament.
