Join us in Bakersfield for our Annual Holiday Classic 3-weapon SENIOR MIXED OPEN tournament, plus Y-12 YOUTH FOIL and a Y12 NOVICE FOIL exhibition event just for students of the Standard School District. Short drive, cool weather, spacious venue, great fencing!

9:00 a.m. Senior Mixed EPEE - for fencers born in 2011 or earlier

10:00 a.m. Senior Mixed FOIL - for fencers born in 2011 or earlier

12:00 p.m. Y12 Novice Mixed Foil (unsanctioned) for Standard School District Students only (students, please contact coaches at Fencing Studio for sign up forms )

12:30 p.m. Y12 Mixed Foil (unsanctioned) for fencers born in 2012 to 2015

2:00 p.m. Senior Mixed SABER - for fencers born in 2011 or earlier


LOCATION: Standard Middle School Gymnasium, 1200 Chester Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93308. Free parking in gymnasium lot located off Ferguson Avenue or Standard School District Office lot at corner of Chester Avenue.


VENUE: Fully-accessible modern gymnasium in North Bakersfield. Springboard wood floors. Ample spectator seating in bleachers. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m.


REGISTRATION: Sanctioned event fee is $40. Current USA Fencing Competitive or Access membership is required. Fencers must be born in 2011 or earlier to compete in Senior Events. Unsanctioned event fee is $10 per fencer. No fee for Standard School Students, and free admission for spectators.

Fees may be paid online in AskFred, or by Venmo, credit card or cash at the door.


CHECK-IN: Please arrive one hour before your event to check in and warm up. Masks and gloves will be inspected.


FORMAT: One round of pools with 100% promotion to direct elimination, and no fence-off for 3rd place.

Medals will be awarded to top 4 fencers in each event.


EQUIPMENT: Full fencing uniform is required, including jacket, under-arm protector, fencing knickers, socks covering legs below the knickers, shoes with non-marking soles. Fencer must use the appropriate glove, lame' and mask for weapon being fenced. Saber fencers must use USA Fencing approved 800N glove. Chest protectors are required for women. For foil events, chest protectors must have foam padding per USA Fencing standards and bear FIE or armorer's mark. Masks & gloves will be checked by the armorer or bout committee.
