Since opening, Davis Fencing Academy has introduced the sport of fencing to hundreds of new students, started multiple afterschool programs, spearheaded a program through the City of Miami Beach, and opened its own dedicated fencing facility with 6 Olympic-length electric strips. What else should I know for this event?

Fencing, like many martial arts, is built on the principle of Respect. Be respectful to organizers, facilities, and participants, and you will be welcomed at this event and future events.

Organizers will follow Rules of Conduct in alignment with USA Fencing policies. Anti-sporting behavior, and offenses against sportsmanship, will be awarded Warning and Black cards, respectively. This applies to ALL in attendance, participants, coaches, and spectators alike.

Anyone in attendance at a Florida fencing event is expected to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner at all times. This applies to fencers, parents, coaches, spectators, referees, and everyone else.

Weapons testing and equipment check will be conducted by directors at the strip (pre-bout) per USA Fencing Rulebook guidelines.

The Swordfish Challenge is an officially sanctioned USFA tournament. An active Access or Competitive USA Fencing membership will be required to compete in any of the events.

Thank you for supporting the growth of the sport of Olympic fencing for all ages in South Florida. If you would like to know how to get more involved, get a hold of us in person or at the contact above.
