Fence foil at Georgia's finest fencing facility Date of tournament, Sunday, February 10, 2013 Venue: Nellya Fencers Club 1530 Carroll Drive NW, Suite 104 Atlanta, Georgia 30318 Events Scheduled: ::Senior Mixed Open Foil - Birth year 1996 or earlier - 10 a.m. ::14 and Under Youth Foil - Birth year 1996 or later - noon ::Senior Mixed Div III Foil - Birth year 1996 or earlier - 2 p.m. ::Youth-12 Mixed Foil - Birth year 2001 or later The times listed are the close of registration; fencing will begin approximately 30 minutes later. The club will be open at 9:30 AM. Cost: "A" fencers and/or the winner of each event fence for free; "B" fencers get $5 discount. For the rest of us: First event $25.00. Additional events are $15. Fees can be paid at the door by cash or check made out to Nellya Fencers. Awards: Medals through 3rd place. Format: Senior (13 and over) events: One round of pools with 100% promotion followed by 15-touch Direct Elimination round. There will be no fence off for 3rd place. Youth (14 and under)event:One round of pools with 100% promotion followed by best two out of three five point bouts Direct Elimination. There will be no fence off for 3rd place. Weapon control: Masks will be tested prior to the competition. All fencers must have two weapons and two body cords at checkin, and at the strip at beginning of each bout. Note: Plastron, fencing socks, gloves, masks, non-marking shoes, and knickers will be required. Chest protectors (required for women)must be covered by both plateron and jacket. Other requirements: USFA rules will be enforced. Fencers under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian signature on the tournament registration form. Please email us if you need a waiver sent to you if you won't be accompanying your child. You must present a current USFA membership card at check-in. If you don't have up-to-date USFA membership, an application form will be available at the registration table. No food or liquids allowed on the strips; fencers will be allowed to leave the strip during breaks for refreshment.
