Pre-Nationals Training Camp Sunday June 26 - Thursday June 30 9am - 4pm* Join the Research Triangle Fencing staff for a Pre-National training camp, both as a final round of Nationals preparation or skills development for the upcoming season. Camp kicks off on Sunday with Corwin Duncan's "Diamond Mind" clinic, learning mental performance skills and practicing them under simulated pressure, followed by the Crucible Foil Tournament, where we'll put those skills to use. Throughout the camp, we'll be working on situational awareness, decision making, and problem solving. We'll also work on fencing-specific conditioning, technical training, and team building. Cost: $450 (prorated at $100/day) * Please note: Depending on camp subscription, we may move times or cohorts, to make sure that everyone has a high quality experience. Venue: We'll be holding the camp in our training facility in Durham. Everything is custom designed to make an athlete-friendly space, from a floor which cushions your joints and stays grippy, to multiple custom video replay systems. COVID Policy: Masked at all times, except while actively eating or drinking. Subject to change based on CDC, Durham County, and USA Fencing guidelines. Staff: Darius Wei - Duke University Assistant Fencing Coach responsible for the Men's & Women's Foil squads. Darius was a member of the NWFC coaching staff which won back-to-back Women's Foil Team Championships in 2009-2010. His Blue Devils have won the ACC Championships in 2018 (Men) and 2021 (Men + Women). Zoe Loh - Zoe is a 2x NCAA Champion and 3x ACC Champion as a foilist at Notre Dame. She is a Jr World Cup finalist and Cadet World Team member for Canada. She is a pursuing a PhD in the Department of Pathology at Duke. Corwin Duncan - Mental Skills Coach. 3x National Champion and Jr World Team Member (USA) for Men's Epee. Bring: - Athletic clothing (shorts, t-shirt, outdoor shoes) - Full fencing attire including knickers and underarm protector - Sack lunch (lunches may be available from nearby restaurants) - Recovery (foam roller, lacrosse ball)
