Saber Referee clinic on 9/20 for those interested in learning how fencing saber rules are applied and how right of way is determined in the modern sport of saber fencing. Saber practical on 9/21.

Referee Clinic Seminar offered through Ill. Div. Seminar will be run by Mark Stasinos a sabre fencer and coach. Mark is an FIE-licensed referee in foil and sabre and a member of the FOC besides being a highly sought after head referee. The saber clinic will run on Friday, Sept. 20Th from 6 pm to 10 pm and the practical on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10am to about 2 pm. Preregistration opens on 08/26/2019. Preregistration closes on 09/20/2019. Please make sure that you have adequately prepared by going through the Study Guide found on the USA fencing website under referee link. Practical refereeing evaluations will be held on Saturday, 9/21 at New Trier East from 10 am to about 2pm. The cost of the clinic is Free for Illinois Division members. $25 for non-members. Please make checks out to the USFA-ILL. Div. There will be a working lunch during the clinic. Lunch will not be provided but please feel free to bring food and drink. Who should attend: - Aspiring referees - who want to learn how saber right of way and rules are being applied at a national and international level - Athletes - who want to improve their games and get a more complete understanding of their sport of saber fencing. - Coaches - who want to maintain their grasp of current interpretations and rules updates for saber. - Parents - who want a better understanding of tournament format and the basics of saber fencing for their children - Current referees - who need to fulfill their yearly requirement for seminar attendance or further their personal goals.
