THE FIFTH ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR LOUISIANA is presented by Caddo Bossier Foundation for Sword Sports, and Shreveport Regional Sports Authority and is limited to middle or high school students of appropriate age (1992) who reside or attend school in Louisiana. Because of this limitation by geographic border and age, the event is USFA sanctioned but not rated. If information on FRED and information on www.almdiv.org conflict, information from www.almdiv.org will prevail. EVENT SCHEDULE: Times listed in bold are CLOSE of registration/check-in (Times in parenthesis are projected finish) Saturday, March 25 9:00 Men's Epee (2:30pm) 11:00 Women's Epee (4:30pm) 2:00 Men's Saber (5:30pm) Sunday, March 26 8:00 Women's Saber (10:30pm) 10:00 Men's Foil (4:45pm) 12:30 Women's Foil (5:30pm) VENUE: Southfield School 1100 Southfield Avenue Shreveport, LA 71106 FEES First event is $20.00. Additional events are $5.00 each. (Cash or check) LATE FEES WILL BE IMPOSED AFTER MARCH 11th. March 12th through March 23 fees are $35 and $10 per extra event. FEES ARE TRIPLE AT THE DOOR PLEASE PRE-REGISTER. You do not have to PAY until CHECK-IN, however, you are responsible for payment or giving timely notification of withdrawal. Format: One round of pools with 100% promotion to simple direct elimination. Current competitive USFA Membership is required. Memberships available at the door. Membership AND informed consent forms for minors require the signature of a parent or legal guardian, the coach may not sign. Receipts from clubs or other tournaments are not acceptable as these membership forms may not have been submitted. Membership and informed consent forms will be available at the venue. Payment for memberships is made directly to the USFA (bring separate checks for the tournament and membership). Fencers are responsible for verifying information on all posted lists both prior to and during fencing. Fencers are required to fence in proper fencing attire; current USFA rules will apply. Equipment testing includes mask, lame, sabre glove, and cords. Please come early to ensure enough time to have equipment checked, and in the case of failure, enough time to find substitute equipment.
