Holy Grail 2013

CMU Fencing hereby cordially invites you to participate in the Holy Grail 2013 Three-Weapon Team Tournament! For complete rules and a brief rundown of how we plan to run the tournament, please see: http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/epg/HolyGrailRules.doc We ask that all teams thoroughly read the "General Operations" section! For some of the most salient points, to which we wish to call attention: -- Preregistration (via the FRED page or e-mail to "fencing@andrew.cmu.edu") is MANDATORY! Any teams that fail to pre-register before the pre-registration cut-off (12:00AM EDT on March 24, 2013) will not be permitted to participate. -- A maximum of three teams per club per weapon will be allowed to fence, to limit the size of the tournament. Based on preregistration, this cap may be adjusted or lifted nearer to the date of the competition. All teams must be composed of no fewer than three individual fencers, and no more than four individual fencers. No double-entering will be permitted - no individual fencer may be a member of more than one team, and no team may enter more than one event. CMU Fencing requests that clubs and teams exercise tact and "common sense" in selecting team names - team names that contain overt offensive material (subject to the judgement of CMU Fencing; examples may include but are not limited to: profanities, excessive lewdness, national/ethnic/racial/sexual/etc slurs, defamation directed at individuals and/or organizations, and so on) are subject to change. -- Each event within the tournament will have a pools-to-DEs cut-off at the top 24. If an event has fewer than 24 teams entered, all teams will advance. -- Full fencing attire (including knickers and long socks) must be worn by all participating fencers. Use of the conductive bib in foil is optional, and at the discretion of each individual fencer. Use of a mask with an integrated, non-removable conductive bib is prohibited in epee - unless the conductive surfaces are completely and thoroughly covered in a resilient insulating material (e.g. heavy tape, such as duct tape). Use of a fully-conductive mask is prohibited in both epee and foil. Use of a mask with a transparent visor is prohibited in epee and foil.
