THE NEW ENGLAND DIVISION, U.S. FENCING ASSOCIATION VETERANS CHALLENGE 9
Saturday And Sunday Septemer 5-6, 2009 at the BOSTON FENCING CLUB 110-2 Clematis St., Waltham, Massachusetts 781-891-0119 Birth year 1969 or earlier. Fencing starts approximately 10 minutes after close of registration. You must be a current USFA (or equivalent) member. Bring USFA/National/FIE card to Registration. If you have no proof of membership, you must join USFA at the tournament. Masks will be checked. USFA uniform (underarm protector required) and equipment rules enforced. FIE uniforms or FIE Foil or Epee blades are not required. S2000 Sabre blades are required. Fencers participating in multiple events on the same day may have to choose between events.

Individual events, see separate Askfred listing: Registration $45, includes T-Shirt & 1 Dinner ticket. Addititional Dinner Tickets $35. Each Individual Event: $20 Registration must be completed online or received with mail-in form by August 15 for T-shirt & Dinner tickets.
A New England Lobster/Clam Bake is included in the Registration fee if paid by August 15, held on Saturday night at the venue after the fencing. Additional tickets are available through August 22. Other food choices will be available. Refunds available less a handlng fee and T-shirt cost if requested by midnight Wednesday prior to the event. No refunds granted Thursday/Friday.
Note: Mixed teams are not allowed. Teams must be all men or all women. TEAM FORMAT Individual: Pools with 100% promoted to Direct Elimination with no repechage. Age group recognition awards will be presented. There will be awards through Third Place ties and Medals awarded through 8th Place. If in two events, you must present yourself at the strip when you are required to fence. You may be allowed to enter additional events on the day of the event. Mixed teams are not allowed. Teams must have all men or all women. Team: All team members must register and pay registration fee. The 45 touch relay Team Event format will be based on the European Veterans Team Competitions, with team cumulative age requirements. See registrants on NEUSFA (or AskFred) to put together your team. 1. Menâs teams must have a minimum cumulative age of 150. Womenâs teams must have a minimum cumulative age of 135. Team members do not need to be from the same club. 2. There must be a minimum of three teams in a weapon to hold the event. 3. Teams may have up to 2 substitutes but must maintain cumulative age requirements. The Advance Registration Fee for each team is $48 and must be paid by August 22. A limited number of teams may be allowed to enter after August 22 at the discretion of the Bout Committee. A late registration fee of $60 will be charged. The person paying the fee for the team will be considered team captain. Team captains will submit team rosters by close of registration. Teams will be directly seeded into Direct Elimination based on team member results in the Individual events. 4. Each team will fence in at least two rounds if conditions permit and there will be a match for Third Place. There will be awards for first place and medals through Third Place. 5. If in two events, you must be present when you are required to fence. Bouts in team events may not be fenced out of order. All team members must be present at start of match. If you wish to be on an ad-hoc team, circle which teams on the entry form and be there at close of registration.
