The 2018 Battle in Seattle Division I-A ROC

The USFA Western Washington Division presents The 2018 Battle in Seattle January 27-28, 2018 at Rain City Fencing Center in Bellevue, WA The Battle in Seattle is the Western Washington Division's largest annual event, drawing fencers from all over the country. As part of the Regional Open Circuit (ROC), the Battle offers fencers the opportunity to earn points towards qualifying for the Division I-A events at Summer Nationals. The top 40% of finishers in each event will earn Division I-A ROC points. Veteran fencers that compete in these events will automatically qualify for the corresponding veteran event at Summer Nationals. Where are the veteran events?!? Arrive early to get your equipment checked! We will be running on a strict schedule so your promptness is appreciated. Fencers may NOT fence in two simultaneous events without the prior permission from the bout committee. All events will be fenced as a single round of pools, 100% promoted to direct-elimination, no fence-off for third. Prizes and medals will be awarded to the top 8 finishers in each event. ---------- Registration Information ---------- Registration fees will vary depending on when you make your payment: Before 11:59pm PST on Friday January 19, 2018: - $30 registration fee - $40 per event After January 19, 2018, fees will double: - $60 registration fee - $80 per event All tournament fees must be pre-paid on AskFRED. You may join or renew your USFA membership at the door. Foreign fencers must be members of their nation's fencing federation or possess an FIE license, AND they must have a USFA membership number (which can be obtained for free at usafencing.org) Full USFA regulation uniform is required, including plastron, knickers, and knee-length socks. No jeans or sweatpants allowed. Names are NOT required on fencer uniforms. USFA rules require that all participants were born in 2004 or earlier. ---------- Equipment Check ---------- Please arrive early to allow time for equipment checks. We will be checking masks, lames, gloves, bodycords and headcords. Equipment check will be open daily at 7am.
