IUP FOC and Div III Foil/Epee

Foil and Epee mixed D and Under competition, sanctioned by the WPD, held in conjunction with a FOC Referee seminar. All USFA rules regarding equipment and age restrictions (a Senior Level event) will be followed. Events Scheduled: D & Under Senior Mixed Epee D & Under Senior Mixed Foil IUP is hosting a WPD Division sanctioned Div III (D and Under) Foil and Epee competition to be held in conjunction with an FOC Referee Seminar. The FOC Seminar will be taught by Iana Dakova, Chair of the FOC International Referee Development Committee and Member of the FIE Refereeing Commission. Ms. Dakova is an internationally recognized referee, holding US referee ratings of 1 in epee and foil and 4 in saber. Ms. Dakova also holds an FIE rating of B in Foil. The Seminar (posted separately under the camps/clinics section of Ask Fred) is to be held from 8:30 Am until 1:00 PM, and then referees who wish to be observed for their ratings will be encouraged to work the events that follow. Registration for BOTH weapons closes at 1:00 PM and start of fencing is scheduled for 1:30 PM. IUP will be hiring rated referees in addition to ensure the smooth running of the events. Please come out to participate in the Division III event, enjoy the fencing and help to get more referees rated in our division! Remember, as always, IUP has excellent facilities, including full wood gym floors, men’s and women’s lockers and showers. There are multiple restaurants within walking distance and numerous delivery options as well. While we are slightly out of the way, the IUP Fencing Club has earned a reputation for well run and on time events.
