Welcome to the final Western Slope Cup of the 2024-25 season as well as the final Colorado Youth Cup of the '24-25 season!

This tournament is in memory of Bailey Shaw, a passionate fencer and a good friend. Gone too soon but dearly remembered forever.

The Western Slope Cup is a marquee series of four events over the course of a USA Fencing season. Fencers use their top three results to accrue points. The top three fencers in each category as well as the top female athlete and top veteran athlete in each category earn plaques at the end of the season to recognize their accomplishments. Fencers must compete in at least two Western Slope Cups to be eligible for a championship plaque. For more information, visit https://www.westernslopecup.org/

The Colorado Youth Cup is a season-long series of six events highlighting the progression and excellence of our young fencers. For more information, go to https://www.coloradofencing.net/

  2. Sunday: Glenwood Springs Community Art Center, 601 E 6th St, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601

Due to the complicated logistics of hosting a tournament off the Front Range, we have a slightly higher fee schedule:

  1. First event: $60
  2. Subsequent events: $40
  3. Fee assistance available as needed by request. Use the "contact the organizer button" to arrange fee assistance if needed.

Event times may be subject to change as registrations come in. We will try to keep the changes as minor as possible and communicate as early as possible regarding any alterations to the schedule.

All youth events will have designated referees. The senior foil and epee events on Sunday may be partially self-refereed in a manner consistent with Colorado Division and USA Fencing regulations.

Additionally, we are looking for referees and are open to part-time referees. If you fence in the morning, consider reffing in the afternoon (or vice-versa!) Fencing on Sunday? Come ref on Saturday! We have limited availability to provide free lodging to referees as well. You do not need to be a fully certified referee with USA Fencing to referee at this event, although we do request you have a reasonable level of experience and confidence refereeing. Refs 18 or older working on Saturday (for the youth events) must be background screened, Safesport trained, and greenlit for +CheckEd through USA Fencing. This does not apply to refs under 18.

We invite you to take advantage of beautiful Glenwood Springs while you visit us for this event. There are plentiful traditional lodging options available, most of which are rated 8.0 or higher on Trivago. We recommend Trivago when searching for lodging options as it seems to get the most complete listing and best pricing for our area. AirBnB also has a great variety of stays as well.

Top attractions include Glenwood Hot Springs, Iron Mountain Hot Springs, and Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. There are many opportunities for outdoor recreation including hiking, road cycling, mountain biking, and more. For more information, go to https://visitglenwood.com/

Downtown Glenwood Springs also offers fantastic dining and entertainment options. We highly recommend Casey Brewing and Blending, Grind Burgers, Slope & Hatch, Glenwood Canyon Brewpub, Masala & Curry, and Smoke Modern BBQ among many other great dining and bar establishments. Feel free to ask us for recommendations!

Beyond Glenwood Springs, we also love the rest of the Roaring Fork Valley including the towns of Carbondale, Basalt, and Aspen. Questions about what to do? Ask us!
