The Highlander Invitational at UC Riverside is a beginner-friendly fencing tournament with pools, DE rounds, and open fencing—no membership required

The UCR Fencing Club is excited to host the first Highlander Invitational this year, and invites collegiate and local fencers to join us for a full day of competition and community building! The event is open to all members of the area, and to any member of the Intercollegiate Fencing Conference of Southern California League (IFCSC)! The event will feature a standardized competition format with preliminary pool bouts followed by direct elimination rounds, with open fencing time available afterwards. The Highlander Invitational is an unsanctioned tournament designed to provide an accessible, low-pressure competitive experience, especially for beginner to intermediate fencers. No USFA membership is required, and all participants are welcome to compete, meet new people, and gain tournament experience.

To keep costs low, this tournament is Unsanctioned and does NOT require a USFA Membership! As such, no USFA Ratings can be issued, and has no impact on fencer's scores/records. Rated Referees, Armory services, and Bout Committee is provided at the venue, and fencing equipment is available for rent if needed!

Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and a tie 3rd place medal for each event, with no fence-off for 3rd place.
