OFC Youth Sabre Cup (December): Check-in Times & Payment Reminder  

Check-in Details & Event Timing

Doors will open at 8:45AM. No early entry please.

To ensure all fencers enjoy a full and engaging pool round, some events have now been combined. Check-in closes promptly at the listed times for each event – no late check-ins will be permitted:

1. Y10 Mixed Sabre – 9:30AM
2. Y14 Mixed Sabre – 10:30AM
3. Y12 Men’s Sabre – 12:15PM
4. Y12 Women’s Sabre – 12:15PM

We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes before check-in closes to allow ample time for equipment check and warm-up. We will do our best to stay on schedule, but event start times may be delayed – we appreciate your flexibility and understanding.

Payment of Event Fees

Prepayment speeds up check-in and keeps the tournament running smoothly. If you have already submitted payment, we kindly thank you. For those who have not yet paid, we ask that all payments be submitted today (Thursday, December 11).

Event fees per individual participant: $35 for one event/$45 for two events.

OHIO FENCING CENTER YOUTH SABRE CUP - DECEMBER

This is the third youth event in this 2025-26 series.

Ohio Fencing Center (OFC) is proud to host a monthly Sabre tournament series that will run through May 2026. The series is designed to give Y10, Y12, Y14 fencers an exciting, high-quality competitive experience in a friendly and supportive environment. Whether you’re from Central Ohio, Cleveland, Cincinnati, or anywhere in Region 2 — or beyond — we invite all youth Sabre fencers to join us. Come fence, grow, and compete in a supportive and exciting environment all season long! 

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE SERIES

1. Monthly tournaments starting October 2025 through May 2026
2. Age Categories: Y10, Y12, Y14 (Cadet events begin in later months)
3. Separate events for Men and Women in each age group*
4. Series Trophies awarded at individual and club levels at the end of the season based on cumulative points
5. Medals awarded at each individual cup
6. Sportsmanship-focused environment: Respectful conduct is required from all participants, coaches, and spectators
7. Low-cost participation: Just $35 for one event, $45 for two — no registration fee!

Series point rules and structure will be reviewed at the start of each event.  

THIRD EVENT: DECEMBER YOUTH SABRE CUP

Date: Saturday, December 13

Location: 6791 Dublin Center Drive, Dublin, OH 43017

Preregistration Opens: Wednesday, October 15

Preregistration Deadline: Wednesday, December 10

Events: Y10, Y12, Y14 Men’s & Women’s Sabre

Format:

1. One round of pools
2. 100% advancement to Direct Elimination (DE)
3. Sanctioned by the Central Ohio Division of USA Fencing

Schedule:

1. Doors open: 1 hour before first event
2. Start time: Tentative. See individual events times. Final times will be posted 2 days before the event based on preregistration numbers.
3. Walk-ins welcome, but preregistration is strongly encouraged to help us plan and run the event smoothly.

4. Cash/Check payments: Email Teena at the club to notify after registering
5. No credit cards accepted

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Sportsmanship-focused environment — respectful conduct is expected from all participants, coaches, and spectators
2. Current USA Fencing Membership (Access or Competitive)
3. All USA Fencing equipment rules enforced – gear check required:
4. Mask – back strap secure, seal intact
5. Glove – no holes, rips, or tape
6. Knickers and knee-high socks are mandatory
7. Clean and regulation-approved gear only
8. Two working weapons and body/mask cords

No-Show Policy:

To ensure fair participation, we are implementing a no-show policy for all events, including our uncapped Youth Sabre Cup. If you are still listed as pre-registered within 24 hours of check-in/close of registration and do not attend the event, your name will be placed on a warning list. A second no-show will result in a one-year suspension from pre-registering from Ohio Fencing Center events. During that time, you will only be allowed to enter as a walk-in and will not be able to register through AskFRED. If you know you can't attend, please remove your name from the pre-registration list in advance. It only takes a moment and helps everyone.

Liability Waiver:

> By entering this tournament, you agree to follow all current USA Fencing rules, as well as any additional policies set by Ohio Fencing Center. You understand that participation is at your own risk, and by registering, you release USA Fencing, its sponsors, Ohio Fencing Center, and all event referees from any liability related to injury or loss.

> You also consent to allow Ohio Fencing Center to seek and authorize medical treatment from any licensed physician, hospital, or clinic, should an injury or illness occur during the tournament.

> Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who remains on-site for the duration of the event.

IMPORTANT NOTES

1. Events may be combined (within same age group) if fewer than 6 participants
2. Be sure to check AskFRED two days before the event for any updated details including anticipated start times
3. Spacious locker room available on-site with ample changing space for athletes' convenience
4. Plenty of free parking and food options nearby
