Central California Division 2012 Junior Olympic Qualifiers, December 18, 2011 The Central California Division Junior Olympic Qualifiers are only open to USFA members registered in the Central California Division. Proof of membership is required. If you are not a USFA member or your membership has lapsed, you may join at the event. You may only compete in our divisional qualifiers if you are a USFA member of our division or are eligible to join our division. Please resolve this with the USFA on or before Thursday, December 8 so we can verify your eligibility. If you are a new member, you should be aware that you may compete in the division within which you live or the division within which your affiliated club is located. The number of qualifiers is 25% of the entrants, rounded up (e.g. 13 fencers = 4 qualifiers) with a minimum of three. If there are three or fewer preregistrants we will try to contact you. Unless we tell you before the tournament that the event is cancelled, you will need to come, however you might not need to fence. We will not cancel any event before the end of the late preregistration period. You are automatically qualified for U17 if you are on the Cadet National Rolling Point Standing (NRPS) on January 17, 2012 OR in the top 8 of the Youth 14 NRPS on January 17, 2012. You are automatically qualified for U20 if you are on the Junior NRPS on January 17, 2012 OR in the top 16 of the Cadet NRPS on January 17, 2012. You are automatically qualified for U17 if you qualify for the corresponding U20 event in any manner and you are young enough. We may delay the launch of the U17 event if there are fencers who are fencing the U20 and signed up for the U17 whose qualification status in the U20 is still undecided. If a fencer is fencing the U20 and qualifies he may choose to withdraw from the U17. If he chooses not to withdraw, we will ensure that he receives no penalty for delaying his start in his U17 pool until he wins or is eliminated from the U20, plus a modest rest time. Event Fee Structure: $25 per event if pre-registered on or before 12/12/11 $50 per event if late registration (between 12/13 – 12/15 inclusive): askFRED will not allow pre-registration during the “late registration” period; you must use the “email the organizer” feature in askFRED to register late at the $50 per event fee. $100 per event walk-in registration: we will allow walk-in registrations at the penalty rate of $100 per event at the bout committee’s discretion only. Walk-ins will not be allowed if we cannot verify the fencer’s eligibility from the USFA by Friday, December 16. We will not allow walk-ins if an event has been cancelled due to three or fewer pre-registrants. Fees are payable by cash or check only.
