"Invite a Friend" Foil Event

This is a new event for DESF. At this tournament, we welcome current fencers to invite a friend to come for the day and try fencing (at 2 PM). DESF will provide equipment and basic instruction so that those participating will be safe and learn some new skills. Friends should wear leg coverings and athletic shoes. The event will be done in foil. Current fencers are encouraged to assist in helping their friend's learn about fencing. The event will involve some basic instruction, and then a "round robin" so they can fence with others who will be trying it out. Current fencers will also be able to fence with their friends. Care will be taken to ensure that new individuals participating will fence within their age group. There will be no fee for individuals that would like to try fencing.

COVID-19 Procedures:

The State of Maine (CDC) recommends that immune-compromised individuals wear masks indoors. Masks are no longer required for attendees, fencers and persons (including parents and spectators). If you are feeling sick on the day of the event, please stay home.
