MTFC In House Epee Team Tournament

MTFC members only épée team tournament -- fun event format with coaching.
INTRODUCTION: Please join us for an in-house (Metro Tacoma Fencing Club members only), unsanctioned, epee team event. All ages and abilities welcome! The focus of this event will be to get to know one another better, to meet fencers at different levels of experience, to cheer each other on, to improve your skills with coaching along the way, and most importantly to have fun.
EVENT SCHEDULE: Sunday 5/3/2026 at 10:00 AM close of registration at Metro Tacoma Fencing Club (MTFC).
EVENT FORMAT: Fencers must be an active MTFC members to participate. We will plan to do a standard relay team event with 3-4 fencers per team. If there are only a few teams we will have a big pool without direct elimination. If we have a medium number of teams we may have two pools and direct elimiation for the top two teams only. If there are lots of teams we will go directly to an elimination table with all places fenced. There will be more experienced fencers who sign up as coaches who can call a time out anytime for the 5 touch bout (much like in college fencing). Coach Toby will set up the teams to try to balance them before the event. If you are planning to fence a team event at Summer Nationals and want to sign-up as a team, we will accomodate. But you do not need to form your own team. But feel free to think of a fun team name. If you missed out on the fun event in February, here is another chance to have fun!
COST: Event fee is $20 per fencer for fencers signed up on AskFRED, billed to your MTFC account. Event fee is $30 per fencer billed to your MTFC account if you show up and have not signed up on AskFRED--just sign up now!
PRIZES: There will be prizes. Probably food related. Maybe potatoes again. Probably not medals.
