The UCLA Fencing Club is excited to host our Okawa Open, honoring our former head coach, Heziburo Okawa. $25 registration fee + $25 fee per event. Born 2011 or earlier. USFA membership required.
UCLA Fencing is excited to host this year's Okawa Open, honoring our former head coach, Heziburo Okawa (1974-1980), and we'd love to see you there!
Time: The event will take place on April 26th, 2025. Please see the event page for specific times, however, these times are subject to change based on the number of signups.
Entry Fees: $25 registration fee + $25 per event. By UCLA policy, participants must pay online in advance at this link. No cash payments will be permitted onsite. Please select the number of events you are participating in and pay accordingly. Please also try to save the receipt of your payment.
Registration: You must be preregistered to participate. Registration is open until Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025 at 11:59pm PDT. No late entrees will be allowed.
Location: UCLA Collins Court, John Wooden Center, Bruin Walk, Los Angeles, CA 90095.
Enter campus from either Sunset Blvd (to access Parking Structure 4) or Charles E Young Drive N (to access Parking Structure 7). Parking is $16/day. Please see the following map for more detail.

Times are subject to change. If either the men's or women's event for any weapon is under 12 participants when the registration deadline closes, that weapon will become a mixed event.
Senior Men's Epee: 9:00am
Senior Women's Epee: 9:00am
Senior Men's Foil: 1:00pm
Senior Women's Foil: 1:00pm
Senior Men's Sabre: 4:00pm
Senior Women's Sabre: 4:00pm
Current USFA membership (Access Membership at minimum) is required for participation in the tournament. Must be born 2011 or earlier. Competitors must wear a full fencing uniform, including long socks, knickers, underarm protector, jacket, and a chest protector for women. An FIE certified chest protector is required for foil. An FIE certified saber glove with a cuff is required for all saber fencers. Masks and gloves will undergo a safety inspection at the tournament. Sam Signorelli from H.O.M. Fencing will be onsite if you need any equipment repairs.
