Manhattan Fencing Center Saber Youth & Veteran Liberty Cup (New DATE)

Due to the state of emergency issued in NYC and the heavy snowstorm predicted for Sunday 1/25, the youth events have been moved from 1/25 to 2/1!

Join us for the Manhattan Fencing Saber Liberty Cup!

We kindly ask all participants to pre-register, as we cannot accommodate walk-ins for this event. Please note that event times may change as we get closer to the tournament. Check askfred for the latest times.

Medals will be awarded to the top 8 competitors in each category.

Additionally, we’re excited to continue the CUP point list for the Y10 and Y12 saber events this year!

There will be 6 tournaments in total—4 in NYC and 2 in NJ. Points from all events will be tracked, and each fencer’s top four results will count toward their final standing. At the end of the season, the top finishers will receive gift cards (1st and 2nd place).

Note: A minimum of 10 fencers per age group, per tournament, is required for points to be awarded.

Registration will commence 20 minutes prior to the start of each event.

To ensure a smooth experience, please remember to bring the following:

1. Your valid USFA (United States Fencing Association) membership cards.
2. Age-appropriate weapons.
3. Underarm protectors.
4. Full electric fencing gear.
5. A personal water bottle (a water fountain filling station is available).

Please note that refunds will not be issued for this event.

A $5 donation from each entry will go to support the Yury Gelman Foundation.

2025 - 26 TRI-STATE VETERAN SABER CUP

This is one of the events in the 10th Annual Tri-State Veteran Saber Cup!

In the past four seasons, the Cup produced 10 A2-rated Vet XS events, 28 A/B ratings, 34 C/D/E ratings

and saw more than 470 registrations across 22 events. The Cup also produced 14 WS events with more

than 185 registrations. These are among the largest Veteran Saber events in the country outside of the

North American Cups. Competitors include people from as far away as Atlanta and Chicago.

CURRENT / ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE OF CUP EVENTS (AS OF NOVEMBER 28, 2025)

#1 – October 19, 2025 – Manhattan Fencing Center (NYC)

#2 – December 7, 2025 – Capital Fencing Academy (DC Area)

#3 – February 1, 2026 – Manhattan Fencing Center (NYC)

#4 – TBC – March 2026 – Club TBC (NYC Area)

#5 – June 7, 2026 – Infinity Fencing Alliance (Southern New Jersey)

LEAGUE RESULTS

In addition to individual event awards, the Top 3 MS and the Top 3 WS fencers in the Cup Ranking at the

end of the season will be recognized.

Cup Ranking will be based on a points system as follows:

1. Fencers will be awarded points for each event completed:

a. Each fencer will be assigned a value based on their rating (A=7, B=6, C=5, D=4, E=3, U=2)

b. Fencers will earn points equal to the sum of the points of the fencers who finish below them,

plus 2 points

2. Each fencer’s Cup ranking will be based on their three best finishes (as measured by points)

3. Any ties at the end of the Cup season will be resolved in favor of the fencer who earned the highest

number of points at any single Cup event
