2008 Leon Auriol Open

The USFA WWD presents the 2008 Leon Auriol Open October 4-5, 2008 at Salle Auriol Seattle The Leon Auriol Open is a Western Washington tradition dating back to 1982. Founded by Maitre Leon Auriol himself, this event has consistently been attended by the best fencers in the Pacific Northwest. WWD members will earn points toward the WWD points list based on their placement in each event. ---- Schedule ---- Saturday, October 4: 8:00 am - Doors open 9:00 am - Mixed Saber, Women's Epee 12 Noon - Mixed Foil Sunday, October 5: 8:00 am - Doors open 9:00 am - Women's Foil, Women's Saber 12 Noon - Mixed Epee If all goes according to plan, the mixed foil & epee events will finish around 6:00pm each day. All times are close of registration. Arrive early to get your equipment checked! We will be running on a strict schedule so your promptness is appreciated. Fencers that wish to fence in two events on the same day must report to the strip when called or they may be scratched from the event. We will try to accommodate people as best we can, but we will not delay events if a fencer is still fencing in another event. ---- Registration Information ---- Registration is $10 plus $20 per event entered and must be pre-paid. !!! IMPORTANT !!! This year we are requiring pre-payment of all fees (just like a NAC.) The registration & payment deadline is 11:59pm PDT on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th. No exceptions will be made - if you miss the deadline, you will pay DOUBLE fees at the door. A: Yes, but you will pay double fees at the door. Q: Can I pre-register and pay later? A: Yes. Pre-register on AskFRED like you normally would, but skip the payment screen. This will add you to the list of registrants, but note that your have not yet paid. You can pay later (before the deadline) by simply going through the registration process on AskFRED again. Q: I don't want to pre-pay until I'm certain I can attend. A: If you pre-pay and are unable to attend, we will give you a refund of your event fees. Registration fees are non-refundable. Q: How do I get a refund? A: Email your refund request to treasurer@wwdfencing.org. Q: I don't want to pay online because I don't trust this internet thing. A: If you are uncomfortable paying online, please contact chair@wwdfencing.org for alternate payment options. Q: What's with this $0.99 fee AskFRED is charging? I hate fees! You may join or renew your USFA membership at the door. Canadian fencers must be current CFF members. NOTE: We can not accept "I sent in my USFA form last week..." as proof of membership. Please make a photocopy of your membership form before sending it in and bring that as proof of membership. Otherwise, you will be required to fill out a new USFA membership form (with payment) at the venue. Full USFA regulation uniform is required, including plastron, knickers, and knee-length socks. No jeans or sweatpants allowed. USFA rules require that all participants were born in 1995 or earlier. ---- Equipment Check ---- Please arrive early to allow time for equipment checks. We will be checking masks, lames, and bodycords.
