Fling yourself into spring at this fun tournament for novices and youth in all three weapons. We want to show you how much fun it is to compete with us! Events Scheduled: 9:00 a.m. - Mixed AFL Open Foil 11:30 a.m. - Y14 Mixed Epee 11:45 a.m. - Y10 Mixed Epee 2:00 p.m. - D & Under Senior Mixed Epee 4:30 p.m. - Team Epee (Unsanctioned, special rules - see below) Registration Fees: Registration is $10, plus $10 for each individual event and $20 per TEAM (not per team-mate). Team Epee Special Rules Teams can be composed of 3-4 fencers. Each fencer gets assigned "points" based on their age and rating. The team's points can add up to NO MORE than 17. To figure out each fencer's points, see the table and example below. 0 points = U rating, Y10, Y12 1 point = E rating, Y14 2 points = D rating, Cadet, Veteran 3 points = C rating, Junior 4 points = B rating, Senior 5 points = A rating Examples: A veteran (2 pts) with an E rating (1 pt) has 3 points. A team can consist of a Junior A (8 pts), Cadet E (3 pts), and a Senior C (6 pts) = 17 total points. A team can consist of fewer than 17 points, but no more. Teams with 4 fencers must also have 17 or fewer points. Important notes: All events require USFA/AFL-compliant mask, glove, knickers, UAP, socks, and jacket (name stenciling NOT required). Please note that while USFA events allow colored uniforms, etc., AFL events do not. Thanks for your cooperation. All epee competition will be electrically scored. Each epeeist must have a minimum of two USFA/AFL-legal weapons and body cords (equipment standards are identical). None of our strips are grounded; floor judges will be used. AFL foil and sabre events are visually judged. USFA membership required for USFA events ($60/year or $10/day). AFL membership required for AFL events ($18/year). Memberships for both organizations can be obtained at the tournament. USFA one-day memberships can be obtained online BEFORE the tournament.
