Rising Stars Beginner and Parent Training

FRED Announces the Rising Stars Beginner and Parent Training This tournament will have EPEE, FOIL, and SABRE events. Fencer must be COMPETITIVE MEMBERS of the USFA and have a signed North Texas Division waiver (available at the door). ------------------ Important Info: ------------------- Tournament: Rising Stars Beginner and Parent Training Date(s): 12/08/2012 Location: Fencing Institute of Texas, Inc. 11482 Luna Road, Suite 100 Farmers Branch, TX 75234 (972) 444-8498 FEES: $20/event NOTE: If we have at least 6 boys and 6 girls in the age group, we will fence girls and boys in their own event. If we have 6 Y-10 fencers and 6 Y-12 fencers in each age group, we will fence the age groups as separate events. Medals will be awarded for boys and girls in each EVENT (Y10/12 is ONE event; Y10 and Y12 are TWO events). Event | Date | Registration Closes Unrated Y10 & Y12 Mixed Foil | Sat 12/08 | 10:00 AM Unrated Y10 & Y12 Mixed Saber | Sat 12/08 | 11:30 AM Unrated Y10 & Y12 Mixed Epee | Sat 12/08 | 1:00 PM Events will be fenced with electric equipment. Students without electric equipment may borrow from their club. There are limited sets available to FIT fencers. Since this is a TRAINING TOURNAMENT, the sharing of equipment is allowed. FENCING ATTIRE: Fencers must have the appropriate jacket, underarm protector, mask and glove. Youth fencers may fence in knickers (preferred) or white baseball pants. LONG SOCKS are required - the entire leg MUST be covered. PARENTS: This is your opportunity to learn how a tournament operates (seeding, pools, and direct eliminations). Please ASK QUESTIONS during these tournaments. REFEREES: You do NOT have to have a rating to referee these events; you do have to have knowledge of the rules and procedures of the weapon you want to referee.
