This is the second annual open tournament at Ohio Northern University, featuring an open, three weapon tournamen with additional, non-sanctioned, Novice Foil event and one-touch epee events.
Note This is a Old AskFRED event. Registrations and results are all correct, but some other data could be missing.
Entry Fees: $15 for first weapon ($10 if pre-registered) $10 for each additional weapon $2 for Novice Foil $2 for Off-Hand One Touch Epee (One touch is free if you fence more than one weapon). Close of Registration (all events will fence within 30 minutes of close of registration): Mixed Sabre: 9:00am Mixed Foil: 11:00am Novice Foil: 12:00pm Mixed Epee: 2:00pm Off-Hand One-Touch: approx 4:30pm. This event will begin as strips become available. Novice Foil: This will be a DRY event for novice fencers. Novice is defined as someone who is not a rated USFA fencer and has been fencing for less than one year. USFA membership and uniform is NOT required for this event. Off-Hand One-Touch Epee: This will be a single-elimination, radomly seeded, One-Touch tournament. All fencers must fence this event with their OFF-HAND. ONU will have left and right handed epees available for use in this event. FOOD!! The ONU cafeteria is literally right next to our venue. There is a Saturday Bruch (which is actually quite good) available from 10:30am to 1:15pm and dinner available from 4:30pm to 6:00pm. These are all-you-can-eat affairs, and and cost around $8. The White Bear Inn will also be open for most of the day. This is cafe-style dinning and is conveniantly located near the venue. Meals are around $5. In addition, everyone is invited to join us for a meal after the tournament. Its an Ohio Tradition for the fencers to go out together after the tournament. Please join us! Directions to venue: It would easiest to use Mapquest or whatever direction-finder program to simply find your way to Ada, Oh. 45810. Be careful, if you blink, you will miss it. Do not be alarmed when you find yourself traveling through the middle of nowhere for an extended period of time. Ada is located right amidst the middle of nowhere. Each direction-finder will bring into Ada on St. Rt. 235. Its the only main drag through Ada. Once you get into town, you will quickly come upon the main entrance to Ohio Northern University at College Avenue. Turn onto College Avenue and enter the university. After two stopsigns, there will be a parking lot on your right. Park here. McIntosh will be the building to the left as you enter the parking lot. It has a fountain and a set of colonial pillars at the main entrance. Enter through this entrance, and continue to your right until you run into the fencing tournament.
