Announcing the WWD Division 2, Division 3, and Y14 Summer Nationals Qualifiers
April 25-26, 2026
Location: Kaizen Academy, LLC, 9620 153rd Ave NE #A5, Redmond, WA 98052
Events that have three competitors or less will not need to be fenced, and all fencers registered by the close of registration date will qualify for any events their rating makes them eligible for. After close of registration, we will send out an email clarifying which events will need to be fenced and which will not.
Tournament Info
Fencers who want to fence at Summer Nationals in Division 2, Division 3, or Y14 must qualify at this event unless they have qualified via other means (such as regional or national points.) In each event, the top 25% (rounded up) will qualify for Summer Nationals, with a minimum of 3. Therefore, if 3 or fewer fencers are registered for an event, the event will not be fenced and all will qualify.
If you are not sure if you are already qualified, speak with your coach. They should be able to tell you whether you need to attend this event or not by looking at the regional points standings found at USA fencing's website.
Division 2 and 3 will be fenced as a single Division 2 (C & Under) event and the qualifiers for both Division 2 and 3 will be determined from the results. It will be held on Saturday April 25th, 2026.
The Youth-14 qualifier will be held at the same location as the Division 2 and 3 qualifiers, and it will be held on Sunday April 26th, 2026.
IMPORTANT PROCEDURE FOR QUALIFIERS
We are using the same process for Division 2/3 Qualifiers that we have been using for JO Qualifiers. This process will save everyone time and money. Please read the following carefully.
First, all entries must be pre-registered and paid on AskFRED by 11:59 PM on April 22nd. This will allow people who qualify for Y14 at the SYC to withdraw from this event with no penalty. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER THE ENTRY DEADLINE.
After the entry deadline, we will send an email announcing the following:
If an event has 3 or fewer fencers that are not already qualified, the event will not be fenced. All of the fencers that are registered will be considered qualified.
If an event needs to be fenced, we will announce the time at which the event will be held. Times listed on AskFred right now are just general estimates.
Entry Fees
All fencers must pay the mandatory $10 fee per event when they sign up on AskFRED.
If an event needs to be fenced, each fencer will need to pay an additional $20 on the day of the event (to cover the cost of hiring referees.) This does not necessarily need to be in cash, as we can set up card based payment methods via Stripe on the day of the event.
Tournament Rules
Division 2 and Division 3 events are Senior events and so are open to fencers born in 2012 or earlier, and to younger fencers on the national junior rolling points list.
Y14 events are open to fencers born between 2011 and 2014, and to younger fencers on the national Y12 rolling points list.
See the Athlete's Handbook, section 2.5, for more details about age eligibility.
Since this is a national qualifier, all competitors must be current competitive members of the USFA Western Washington Division and US citizens or permanent residents.
Please join or renew your USFA membership online at https://member.usafencing.org/ prior to registering on AskFred.
For events that are fenced, full USFA regulation uniform is required, including plastron, knickers, and knee-length socks. No jeans or sweatpants allowed. Saber fencers must have the 800N glove.
We will inspect and mark masks, lames, body cords, head cords, and gloves. Equipment inspection will be done on the day of the tournament.
