South Carolina Division Qualifier & Annual Meeting

2015 SC Division Qualifier and Annual Membership Meeting/Bylaws Vote/Elections Clarification Note on the Running of Events: All fencers will be allowed to fence the events for which they are registered. If you are fencing while your next bout is to occur, we will hold the event (wait for you) for a reasonable period of time. As per USA Fencing rules, We will give you 10 minutes between your DE bouts unless you prefer to go ahead and fence (forgoing waiting). But you must be present for your Event in the venue when it is called. We expect very few individuals, if any, to be affected by this; however, if you are late, fencing other events, etc, and pools are running, you may be skipped *within your pool* and required to fence your concurrent Pool bouts at the Referee's discretion. Reminder: If you are late to the competition, or to your Pools in general for any other reason other than multiple events fenced, and you do not appear at Strip when your name is called, you may be excluded from competition per USA Fencing rules. General Example: Men's D 2/3 Foil (7 people) starts at 9am. Y14 Men's Foil (4 people) starts 9:30am. If you are still participating in a running pool in the D 2/3 event, we will wait until your last bout has been finished in that D 2/3 pool before starting the Y 14 Event. Having said that: *Purposeful* delays of bouts intended to disrupt the smooth running of the competition will be addressed at Referee discretion according to the Penalty Chart. Short version: We will work with you to ensure that you are able to fence the Events for which you wish to compete. Reminder: As announced during the original posting of the Athlete Packet (aka "The Flyer"), Events with six or fewer fencers will not go to DE (Pool results will stand), and Events with three or fewer fencers present will not be fenced. Tiered Pricing - TIER 2 NOW IN EFFECT

1. TIER 1 - EXTENDED TO APRIL 12 - Register FRED/Pay ONLINE (both) - Online Registration Fee $5/Online Event Fee $20 ea. (By April 12)
2. TIER 2 - April 19 - Register FRED Only/or Mail Paper Forms- $15/$20 ea. event. **Include Additional $10 Paper Processing Fee for mailed entries.** By April 19 ($15 Registration, $20/Event. Add $10 total if mailing forms.)

Final Registration Deadline is 11:59pm WEDNESDAY, April 29. THERE IS NO REGISTRATION AT THE DOOR. ***Planned Events - Note, Events with less than 4 fencers will not be fenced.***

• Division 2/Division 3 Combined Qualifiers for each of Mens and Womens events for all three weapons;
• Y14 Events for all three weapons in each gender. See Flyer for specific entry requirements.
• Epee SUNDAY. Foil/Saber Sunday.

**We will hold everything on SUNDAY. Final event times posted on Friday, May 1.** ANNUAL DIVISION MEMBERS MEETING AND BYLAWS AMENDMENT VOTE - WATCH THIS SPACE FOR UPDATES The Annual Division Members’ Meeting will be held on SUNDAY (May 3) at 5:00 PM, or, immediately after the last fencing event finishes and the Tournament day is concluded (whichever is later). Current South Carolina Division Members in good standing, who hold a valid voting-eligible Membership as specified in Section 2.1.1, Voting Privileges of the USA Fencing Operations Manual, and who are age 18 as of 1 FEB 2015 are invited and welcomed to participate! There will be a Bylaws Amendment Vote to accept Member-proposed amendments to the current South Carolina Division Bylaws [as posted on the Documents Page]. Voting-eligible Members in good standing with both USA Fencing and South Carolina Division may review and offer proposed amendments to the 2004 Bylaws.
