Accept the Challenge 2017

Are you going to “Accept the Challenge” April 1, 2017? We hope so! Please join us Sat., April 1 for our Second Annual “Accept the Challenge” tournament at Columbia Fencers’ Club’s site at the Katie and Irwin Kahn Jewish Community Center, 306 Flora Dr., Columbia, SC 29223. (It’s easily accessible from I-20 (Exit 74), I-77, or SC 277.) Entry fees paid at the door, but please sign up to let us know you’re coming. A’s fence for $10 in their A-rated weapon. B’s fence for $15 in their B-rated weapon. Awards for first 8 places in Open Foil and Open Epee; first 4 places in Vet Epee. If you are a rated referee but would also like to fence, please contact Jane. NEW competitors who UPGRADE to COMPETITIVE membership in USA Fencing for the FIRST time on or after APRIL 1st — your competitive membership will extend through July 31, 2018 – a full year bonus. You may do this at the door. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before check-in deadline to complete all paperwork. Parent or Guardian must co-sign for minors. All events are sanctioned by USA Fencing. (Fencers must wear regulation uniforms with long socks, have spare working cords and weapons, etc.) Events scheduled and deadlines for Check In: Gym opens at 8:00 AM 8:30 AM Vet Mixed Epee (Ages 40 and older, birth years 1977 or earlier—“Youth 40”) 9:30 AM Foil Mixed Open 12:30 PM Epee Mixed Open Cost: $30 first event, $15 each additional event.
