NJFA Cadet - All Weapons

CADET - ALL WEAPONS For all fencers born 1993-1996, or on the Y14 Points List. If your entry is rejected for age, contact us and we will handle your entry. This is the first event in the 2009-10 NJFA Cadet Series. There are 3 events scheduled this season (Oct 25, Dec 27, and April 25). This event is sanctioned by the NJ Division of the USFA and ratings can be awarded, however youth events do not use the E1 or D1 classifications. This means that these events are “NR”until they achieve a C1 level or higher. Events may be mixed. CADET SERIES Series points will be awarded to top 8 places in each event. There is a fence-off for 3rd place. Points will be cumulative and prizes and trophies will be awarded to the top 3 point finishers in each event on April 25. Double points will be awarded on April 25th. Each tournament however is stand-alone and a great opportunity for Cadet fencers to gain valuable tournament experience, whether pursuing Series prizes or not. ENTRY Fencers must meet USFA birth year requirements. Only fencers born 1993-1996, or on Y14 points list are eligible to compete. You must have valid USFA membership and you MUST show your USFA card or have proof that payment has been made. You may join at the door, however arrive with a completed form or plan to come early to complete the necessary paperwork; parent signature is required. Have separate checks made out to USFA or use your credit card for USFA payment. If you join on-line via USFA please bring a receipt. All fencers must wear required fencing attire and bring at least 2 working weapons and 2 working body cords. ** Liability waiver - Upon entering this tournament you agree to abide by the current rules of the USFA and other applicable rules instituted by NJFA. You acknowledge you are entering this tournament at your own risk and release the USFA and its sponsors, NJFA, and referees from any liability. With entry you give consent to NJFA to obtain medical care from any licensed physician, hospital or clinic for any injury or illness that may arise during activities associated with this tournament. ** FEES $35 if preregistered and payment made through FRED. $40 if preregistered with payment at the door. $50 if walk-in (without preregistration). Payments made at the door must be in cash or check only. CREDIT CARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Refund requests must be received at least 2 days prior to the event. Initial seeding by Cadet National Points/classification/year. Gender-separate events. Events may be mixed depending on turn-out. One round of pools with 100% promotion to Direct Elimination rounds. No fence-off for third place; two 3rd place medals awarded. Fencers are responsible for ensuring accuracy of all posted information and must report errors to the bout committee immediately. Fencer signature on pool score sheets and DE bout slip implies accuracy. LOCATION New Jersey Fencing Alliance is located at 50-58 Burnett Avenue (use 54 Burnett Avenue for Mapquest); Maplewood, NJ.
