Open to all fencers with a classification of "C" or higher. Co-sponsored with Absolute Fencing Gear, gift certifications will be awarded to the top three men and women in each event. If the winners are subject to NCAA rules, a decorative sword will be awarded to the Gold Medalists and similar awards will be given to Silver and Bronze winners. If there are more than 15 men and 15 women signed up for an event, the organizers will hold a separate women's event in that weapon if the fencers wish. Save $10 and preregister on line -- only $25. "Senior" refers to a USFA requirement that all fencers participating in open events must have birth years of 1993 and earlier. Format and Sanctioning: This tournament is sanctioned by the New Jersey Division of the USFA and national classifications can be earned. The format consists of a first round of pools with 100 percent promoted to the direct elimination round. All fencers are expected to wear the required fencing attire and bring at least two weapons and body cords that meet USFA requirements. There are no exceptions to the attire and equipment rules. You must have a valid USFA membership or join the USFA at the event. Medeo: Fence at the most advanced fencing club in New Jersey. All metal USFA/FIE strips and state-of-art reels and scoring machines. Fully air conditioned because May could be hot!! Lots of free, off-the-street parking. The Medeo Fencing Club is located two buildings away (a short walk and a really short car ride) from Absolute Fencing Gear. Absolute Fencing Gear will be open on Sunday, May 13.
