First held in 1987, and honoring the memory of Maestro Emeric DeGall, coach at Dallas Fencer's Club and Southern Methodist University. Winners of the Senior Sabre events will have their names engraved on the Perpetual Trophy.
Come out for the relaunching of the DeGall - one of the oldest and most venerable tournaments in North Texas. Honoring Maestro Emeric DeGall, an early pioneer in sabre in North Texas and fencing coach at Dallas Fencers Club and Southern Methodist University. Winners of the Mixed's and Women's Senior events will be engraved on the DeGall Perpetual Trophy and will receive a replica. Fencing will begin as soon after close of registration as possible. Sunday 9:30 AM Senior Open Women's Sabre 10:00 AM Senior Unrated Men's Sabre 11:00 AM Y10/12 Mixed Sabre 11:30 AM Senior Unrated Women's Saber 02:00 PM Senior Open Mixed Sabre If Y10/12 event has 6 or more entries of each gender, the genders will be fenced in separate events. BIRTH YEAR LIMITATIONS (2012-2013 season) Youth 10/12 Event: 2000 - 2005 Senior Events: 1999 or before ENTRY FEES Advance Prepaid Discounted Registration: $10 (paid online before 11:59 PM Friday December 28th, 2011) Regular Registration: $20 (at the door or paid online after 11:59 PM Friday December 28th, 2012) Individual Event fees: $20 Prepayment not required, but appreciated! TOURNAMENT ORGANIZATION All events will be fenced electrically. Masks, body cords, cuffs and lames will be subject to equipment control. Original seeding will be according to USA Fencing Athlete Manual for Senior and Youth events. One round of pools will be fenced; 100% promoted to DE's of 15 touches (2 out of 3 five touch bouts for Y10/12 event). Initial seeding, seeding after pools and final placements will be posted in the venue. Fencers are responsible for verifying the posted lists, and signing their pool and DE sheets. Awards given to Top-4 finalists in Unrated and Youth events (Boys and Girls divisions will be given separate medals in Youth events). Awards to top 8 Senior Open events. USFA MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED Fencers must be a USA Fencing member. Proof of membership is required. Pre-registered fencers will receive membership status information via askFRED email using most current USA Fencing membership data. Age status will be checked against USA Fencing membership data - bring proof of age if there are discrepancies. While fencers are encouraged to get memberships directly through the USA Fencing prior to the competition, completed USA Fencing membership forms will be accepted at the door. If you do not have proof of membership, you will be required to complete and pay for a membership. Payment for memberships is made directly to the USFA (NO CASH!); bring separate check or credit card number (preferred) for membership. Fencers under 18 years old are reminded they need the signature of a parent or guardian (not a coach) on BOTH the membership and waiver forms. WAIVER OF LIABILITY The North Texas Division Waiver of Liability is required to be filled out and signed.
