Matt Zich (Fencers Club) Ranked 4th in Sabre Junior Rolling Points and 14th in Div 1 Matt just placed in the top 16 in Budapest and took 2nd in the NAC Junior Men's Sabre in Overland Park!! Tournament Staff information Guest Fencers Referees hired Bout Committee Personnel Armourers General SSCC Information Link to Schedule Link to Ops Manual The current Ops Manual for the SSCC can be found here: http://www.southwestfencing.org/SSCC/SSCCOpsManualLatest.htm Pre-registration info Pre-registration for SSCC events is limited to fencers whose USFA membership status can be verified. A database of current SWS members is available at http://www.southwestfencing.org. Fencers who's status cannot be confirmed either here or through the national office will NOT be allowed to pre-register. Your registration will not appear immediately under the entry list. Once USFA membership status has been confirmed by the Section Secretary, your registration will be approved. This protocol is SOLEY for the purpose of verifying USFA memberships and rankings, and will NOT be used to deny entry to any person on any other basis. USFA membership will be available at the day of the tournament, but fencers who show up without a current USFA membership will be subject to the triple fees for on-site registration. Age Categories Entry in SSCC events is open to all USFA members or foreign fencers holding an FIE card, provided they have a birth year of 1991 or greater for the 2004-2005 season or are on the USFA Junior Points list in the weapon they wish to compete. Equipment policies Events will all be fenced electrically. Equipment checks will consist of masks, body chords and lame's. Sabre cuffs and underarm protectors are REQUIRED. Tournament format All SSCC events will be run with 1 round of pools, with 100% of competitors promoted to a single elimination bracket, except as provided for in the SSCC Ops Manual. At all SSCC competitions the Bout Committee shall perform a seeded draw in the first round of competition. Fencers will be seeded as Ranked fencers and Classified fencers. Ranked Fencers Category 1) Nationally Ranked fencers in a particular weapon who have achieved a ranking in the Top 32 in Senior Points will be entitled to a seeded draw ahead of all other fencers in that weapon. Category 2) SSCC Ranked fencers ranking in the Top 8 in SSCC points for the CURRENT season shall be entitled to a seeded draw ahead of all fencers except those in Category 1. Note this does not affect the seeding of the first SSCC event of each year. Category 3) Other Nationally ranked fencers who have points in the Senior Category will be seeded ahead of all other fencers with the same letter classification in that weapon. Category 4) Other SSCC Ranked fencers who have points in the from places 9-32 in SSCC points for the CURRENT season will be seeded ahead of fencers with the same letter classification but behind those in Category 3 in that weapon. Note this does not affect the seeding of the first SSCC event of each year. Classified fencers Fencers holding a classification in the weapon being fenced, but not having a ranking under the current national point system or the top 32 of SSCC points in the weapon in question will be seeded according to their letter classification first, and, within the same letter classification, by their numeric classification.
