Unsanctioned, fun three-weapon tournament for all CT high school coaches. Come blow off some post-season steam with your fellow coaches.
My fellow coaches,
For years, we've joked about meeting up at the end of the high school season and crossing a few blades. This year, when I made that joke, a number of you said 'oh, cool... when?'
To that end, the Milford Fencing Club will be hosting a Coaches' Invitational tournament on Sunday, April 14th. Jeremy Goun has graciously allowed us to use Candlewood Fencing Center in Newtown for the event.
This will be a fun, friendly, unsanctioned event. We'll be running all three weapons, refereed by our high school referees. Any CT coach or assistant coach is welcome to take part.
Event Schedule:
Epee – 10 am
Foil – 12 pm
Sabre – 2 pm
Please bring all the required equipment for your events. We will not have gear available to loan out. All proscribed safety gear (including knickers and plastron) is required.
While this is an unsanctioned event, we will be following the USA Fencing rules, as normal. A USA Fencing membership is required for insurance purposes.
The fee for this event is only $20, to cover medals, materials, and lunch for the referees.
