This tournament is open only to members of the New Jersey Division due to it being a qualifier. Auto Qualifiers compete for free.
This tournament is for fencers who are attempting to qualify for the Junior Olympics in the U20 age group. Fencers must be U.S. citizens OR permanent residents of the United States and current competitive members of the USFA. Fencers must be born in 1991 through 1997. A fencer born after 1997 can fence in Junior (U20), NAC Cadet and Junior Olympic U20 Championships qualifying round, IF the fencer is on the National Cadet (U17) point standings at the time of the entry deadline for that tournament. Fencers who are auto qualifiers can fence for FREE in this tournament. If you auto qualify, pre-register for your event and email the organizer for confirmation. Here are the requirements to be an auto qualifier: UNDER-20 (Junior) Fencers must meet age eligibility above AND BE ⢠on the Junior NRPS at the time of the fencerâs current season Division Under-20 J.O. qualifying competition. Preregistration opens on 09/04/2010. LATE REGISTRATION WILL START ON Saturday, NOVEMBER 20. Online registration closes on 11/25/2010. Tournament Fee $10.00 Pre-registration per event with payment - $30 Late registration - $70 per event. NO REFUNDS AFTER 11/27/10. Events Scheduled: Junior Women's Epee Sunday 8:30AM Junior Men's Epee Sunday 9:00AM Junior Women's Foil Sunday 11:00AM Junior Men's Foil Sunday 11:30AM Junior Women's Sabre Sunday 1:00PM Senior Men's Saber Sunday 2:00PM Medals will be awarded for 1st through 8th place for each event. Format and Sanctioning: This tournament is sanctioned by the New Jersey Division of the USFA. The format for each event consists of a round of pools with the top 80% promoted to the direct elimination round. There is no fence-off for third place if there are at least 13 fencers in the event. All fencers are required to comply with the USFA standards for uniforms and equipment. Each fencer should bring at least two functional weapons and body cords that meet USFA requirements. There are no exceptions to the attire and equipment rules. You must have a current USFA membership or join the USFA at the event. You must show your USFA card or have proof that payment has been made.
