IUP Fencing club announces the Spring Sword Showdown Open Foil and Epee event. Registration fee - $10.00 event fee - $30.00 per event.
The IUP Fencing Club is proud to announce the IUP Spring Sword Showdown Open Fil and Epee USFA Sanctioned competition.
Foil check in closes at 10:00 AM and Epee check in will close at 1:00 PM
Please be ready to show your current and valid USA Fencing membership at check-in.Preregistration closes on 04/10/2025.
This is a USFA sanctioned event, and all USFA rules will be followed for the competition. Appropriate attire is required (Jacket, Kickers, Mask, Plastron, Socks, and glove all in good repair and working order).Masks, weapons, and body cords will be tested at check-in. Please ensure that each competitor has two working body cords, and that no single individual brings more than 5 cords to the armorers table to be tested at a time.
Zink Hall has men's and women's locker rooms with shower facilities. For those interested in coming out the night before the competition, there is a (relatively) new Hilton Garden Inn approximately 1000 feet from the venue. There is a GOOD coffee house (Commonplace Coffee) about two blocks away that sell coffee and light sandwiches/baked goods. Finally, there are a number of nice restaurants along Philadelphia street for after the competition (I recommend the PanAsia Cafe, and Benjamins)
