Competition Format
Seeding into pools of 6 or 7 will be based first on the top 8 fencers with CFF HPP rankings, then the CFF domestic ranking for the category (Cadet, Junior, Senior, Veteran).
For those participants without a CFF HPP or CFF domestic ranking, the OFA ranking will be used.
The Directoire Technique (DT) reserves the right to make adjustments to the seeding based upon exceptional circumstances (e.g. former national team member without a ranking, foreign fencers).
In cases where pools of 6 or 7 are not possible, the DT will determine the most practicable format, while ensuring to optimize competition.
All events will have one round of pools, with all participants promoted.
Advancement into Direct Elimination will be ranked on the results from the pools in accordance with FIE rules.
Medals will be awarded to the top four spots of the event.
There is no fencing for third place.
Events are planned as separate events but may be combined if there are fewer than 6 registrants in one gender. If combined, both a combined and separate women’s DE will be held.
Should the events occur on separate days, participants of the later event will be notified no later than 7 days before the event and given the option of combining with the other gendered event, or a refund of event fees.
Veteran events
One round of pool with all participants promoted.
The Veteran direct elimination competition will be open and by age category and is organized according to the results of the pools.
Separate men’s/women’s age category DE events will be held if there are at least 4 fencers; otherwise, only a combined DE will be held.
Open Veteran
40+ (age 40-49)
50+ (ages 50 -59)
60+ (ages 60 - 69)
70+
Participants that enter in multiple events may be required to fence multiple bouts without breaks.
Should conflicts arise, participants may be asked to withdraw from an event.
If you are registered in multiple events, you must CONFIRM your check-in for each event; please do NOT assume that if you are checked into your first event that you are automatically checked into subsequent events.
Results from the Veteran, Senior, Junior, Cadet events will be submitted to CFF for domestic rankings.
Results will also be included in the OFA rankings.
