SoCal Division Championships 2024

The Southern California Division is hosting the end of the season Championships on Sunday June 23, 2024. 

RESTRICTED TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DIVISION MEMBERS ONLY

Your USA Fencing membership must have Southern California Division

designated as your division.  Fencers must have active Access or Competitive Membership.

Age Requirement: Competitors must be at least 13 years old on January 1st, 2024, or be on the Junior NRPS.

Fencers are required to show Proof of USFA Membership required and proof of age (Passport, Driver license, birth certificate) unless age verified with

USFA.

Rating changes on AskFRED are NOT official. Only ratings listed on the USA Fencing Website as of Friday, June 21st, 2024, will be acknowledged.  Any

ratings earned after that or not reported to the national office will not be used.

Please Note: Only Rubber-soled shoes are allowed in the gymnasium. PLEASE respect the venue!

**SIGN UP ON THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT / LATE REGISTRATION after June 20th,

2024 IS $100 (DOUBLE FEES) PER EVENT AT THE DOOR (for events not

canceled) 

**Pre-payment is required to Complete Registration.

Incomplete registrations will be deleted after the deadline.

Waiver fees will be considered on a case by case basis. These are for

fencers who have financial hardships. Please contact jbeihold@gmail.com for

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help set up: First 4 fencers to sign

up to setup equipment will have registration fee waived. Please contact jbeihold@gmail.com to sign

up.

**EVENTS WITH FEWER THAN 4 FENCERS/TEAMS REGISTERED BY THE JUNE 20, 2024, DEADLINE

WILL BE CANCELED. FENCERS SIGNED UP ON CANCELLED EVENTS WILL AUTO QUALIFY FOR

THE EVENT. FENCERS WILL RECEIVE A FULL REFUND FOR CANCELED EVENTS. NO ENTRIES

WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR FOR CANCELLED EVENTS.

Events will start approximately 15 minutes after the close-of-check-in

times. Event schedule is subject to change and may be updated one week before

the tournament depending on the number of entries in each event.

Fencers will be required to submit masks and glove for inspection.

FORMAT:

INDIVIDUAL EVENT: One round of pools, 100% promoted to simple direct elimination.

TEAMS: must be composed of no more than 4 fencers of the same sex

and all members a particular team must be members of the same club (no

composite teams), as indicated on their official USFA profile page). Since some

fencers are members of two clubs, they can choose which one they wish to

represent, but they can’t represent two different clubs in the same weapon.

Fencers registered as unattached will not be allowed to fence in the team

events.

Teams will be seeded in a direct elimination tableau based on points (National and/or Regional) and ratings (so no pools).

Relay format, 9 bouts to a maximum score of 45 – increments of 5 touches or maximum time of 3 minutes for each bout. Fence-off for 3rd.
