TN Secondary School Fencing Championships

Fencers currently attending school in grades 6-12 in Tennessee, please consider yourself invited to the 2012 TN Secondary School Fencing Championships! ***** Fees: $15.00 per event ***** Registration Closing Times (times listed are Central, events will begin as soon as possible after the close of registration) Foil: 9:00 AM Sabre: 11:30 AM Epee: 2:00 PM ***** Representation of the participating fencers/teams will be: 1) Traditional Students: The Tennessee secondary school you are currently attending 2) Non-Traditional Students (homeschool): The Tennessee homeschool association you are currently registered with: a) Tennessee public school district b) Tennessee church-affiliated program (by district/region, if applicable) c) Tennessee umbrella group (by district/region, if applicable) USA Fencing club affiliation is not a consideration. ***** The individual championship will be conducted in the normal USA Fencing tournament format (pools followed by 15-touch elimination bouts). The team championship will be based on team points from the individual competition; points will be awarded to the top five competitors per school based on the USA Fencing Division I Without Repechage table, highest points total wins. Scholastically mixed teams (multiple schools, multiple non-traditional groups, combined traditional/non-traditional students, etc) will not be allowed. ***** Pre-registration closes on 03/24/2012. Only pre-registered entries will be accepted; entries will not be allowed at the door. ***** USA Fencing membership is NOT required; however, all USA Fencing rules and equipment requirements/regulations will be observed. USA Fencing ratings can NOT be awarded based on the results of this event. ***** In order to participate the following waiver information below MUST be completed and turned in at check-in; the waiver will also be available at the venue. ***** WAIVER ***** ALL ENTRANTS MUST READ AND SIGN EACH OF THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS: (Entrants under age 18 must have parent or legal guardian sign) 1) Waiver of liability: Upon entering this tournament I agree to abide by the current rules of USA Fencing.
