Welcome to the fourth and final Western Slope Cup event of the 2023-24 season!

The Western Slope Cup is a marquee series of four events over the course of a USA Fencing season. Fencers use their top three results to accrue points. The top three fencers in each category as well as the top female athlete in each category earn plaques at the end of the season to recognize their accomplishments. For more information, visit https://www.westernslopecup.org/

Event fees: $40 first event, $20 each subsequent event. Fee assistance available as needed.

USA Fencing Competitive or Access membership is required for all events except Y12 Mixed Foil.

Age categories by birth year:

  • Y12: 2011 or later
  • Senior: 2010 or earlier

Schedule:

  • 9 am: Y12 Mixed Foil (Unsanctioned)
  • 915 am: Senior Mixed Epee
  • 930 am: Unrated Mixed Foil
  • 12 pm: Senior Mixed Foil
  • 3 pm: Senior Women's Foil *

* We will make the Women's Foil event all-ages if there are fewer than six senior (born 2010 or earlier) fencers (ie. enough to make at least an E1 rated tournament)

Senior Open events may require some self-refereeing.

There is no vending available on site. However, the library is in the heart of Glenwood Springs. There are many food options within walking distance. There is a convenience store north over the bridge and a City Market south on Grand Ave.

We invite you to take advantage of beautiful Glenwood Springs while you visit us for this event. There are plentiful traditional lodging options available, most of which are rated 8.0 or higher on Trivago. We recommend Trivago when searching for lodging options as it seems to get the most complete listing and best pricing for our area. AirBnB also has a great variety of stays as well.

Top attractions include Glenwood Hot Springs, Iron Mountain Hot Springs, and Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. There are many opportunities for outdoor recreation including hiking, road cycling, mountain biking, and more. For more information, go to https://visitglenwood.com/

Downtown Glenwood Springs also offers fantastic dining and entertainment options. We highly recommend Casey Brewing and Blending, Grind Burgers, Slope & Hatch, Glenwood Canyon Brewpub, Masala & Curry, and Smoke Modern BBQ among many other great dining and bar establishments. Feel free to ask us for recommendations!

Beyond Glenwood Springs, we also love the rest of the Roaring Fork Valley including the towns of Carbondale, Basalt, and Aspen. Questions about what to do? Ask us!
