FRED Announces the WWD Leon Auriol Open Join us for the first WWD event of the new season! The Leon AuriolOpen is one of the WWD's largest events of the year and is a greatway to kick off the new season. This year, the Leon Auriol Open is being held at the IssaquahCommunity Center. It has a nice floor with lots of room for stripsand spectators, great lighting, and is easy to get to. See below fordriving directions. WWD members will earn points toward the WWD points list based ontheir placement in each event. ---- Event Schedule ----- -- Saturday 9/27/03 -- 8:00 am -- Doors open, strip setup 10:30 am -- Mixed epee 12:30 pm -- Women's foil 1:30 pm -- Women's saber -- Sunday 9/28/03 -- 9:00 am -- Doors open 9:30 am -- Mixed foil 11:30 am -- Women's epee 1:30 pm -- Mixed saber All times are close of registration. Arrive early to get yourequipment checked! We will be running on a strict schedule so yourpromptness is appreciated. Fencers that wish to fence in two events on the same day must reportto the strip when called or they may be scratched from the event. ---- Registration Information ---- Registration fee is $5 plus $10 per event entered. Tournament fees can be paid in cash or check made out to USFA/WWD. We will only be accepting US$ and checks drawn inUS$ on US banks. A $5 late fee will be charged if you do not pre-register bymidnight on Friday, September 26th. There is no penalty forpre-registering and not showing up. Please bring your current USFA membershipcard. You may join or renew your USFA membership at the door. Please consider downloading the USFA membership application from theUSFA website and filling it out before arriving at the venue. All weapons will be scored electrically. We will inspect and markmasks, lames, and body cords. You can get your equipment checkedprior to the event at the following times: - Thursday, 9/25 at Rain City Fencing Center from 7:30 - 9pm - Friday, 9/26 at Salle Auriol Seattle from 8 - 9pm Full USFA regulation uniform is required, including plastron,knickers, and knee-length socks. No jeans or sweatpants allowed. ---- Call for Directors ---- The WWD is looking for qualified directors to assist in directingpools and DE bouts. If you can volunteer on one or both days, youwill be paid a $40 per diem and get a free lunch! TheIssaquah Community Center is located in the heart of downtownIssaquah, just 5 minutes from the I-90 Front Street off-ramp. - From I-90, exit Front Street and turn right (south) - Go through downtown and turn left onto E.
