Tournament Venue:

Goodwin Frazier Elementary School Gymnasium

1441 S Business IH 35, New Braunfels, TX 78130

Tournament Date & Schedule:

March 7th, 2026

Y12 Mixed Epee - 9AM

Y14 Mixed Epee - 11AM

Junior Mixed Epee - 2PM

Tournament Format:

All events will be one round of pools with 100% promotion to direct eliminations. Pools of 6 to 7 anticipated.

For Y12, Y14, and Junior events, DE bouts are 15 touches (3 three minute periods with a 1 minute break between). During the 1 minute breaks, only one designated person by the fencer may be on the strip with that fencer during the break.

Notice of Equipment Requirements:

While this is not a formal USA Fencing tournament, all fencers are required to adhere to standard uniform guidelines of a sanctioned local, regional, or even national tournament. Knickers/Fencing Pants, long socks (that come up to the knee), Plastron/Underarm Protector, and chest plate (for female athletes) will be required of all fencers. We are aware that this may be a burden for some families who are only beginning their journey into competitive fencing, but the safety of all visiting competitors is our first and chief concern. The program has a limited selection of equipment, including knickers, that can be borrowed (though we cannot guarantee that they will be perfect fits). Long socks may be purchased for a nominal fee.

Waiver of Liability:

Upon entering this tournament you agree to abide by the current rules laid out in USA Fencing's Athlete's Handbook, Rulebook, and other applicable rules instituted by Comal ISD and the State of Texas. You acknowledge you are entering your child into this tournament at your own risk and release Comal ISD, its administrators, school and ancillary staff, any sponsors, and officials from any liability. With entry you give consent to Comal ISD to obtain medical care from any licensed physician, hospital, or clinic, for any injury or illness that may arise during activities associated with this tournament.
