Las Vegas / Nevada Jr. Olympic Qualifiers

Please Note: This is the Nevada Division Qualifier for the Jr. Olympic Championships being held in Charlotte NC Feb. 15-18, 2008. This is also a Jr./Cadet Vegas Cup #2 event. Venue: Red Rock Fencing Center- 5275 S. Arville St. Suite #332- Las Vegas, Nevada 89118. Concession stand will be open during the tournament. All events will be fenced no matter how many are entered. You must fence it in order to qualify unless you are an automatic qualifier. You are responsible for payment or giving timely notification of withdrawal. Formats: One round of pools, 5-touch bouts with a 3-minute time limit. 100% advancing to DE of 15 touches for Y14 & Jr, DE of 2 out of 3 5-touch bouts for Y12 and Y10. Events: Epee, Foil, Sabre Men and Women for Cadet and Jr. Events. Events will not be combined. All events will be fenced no matter how many are entered. Birth year limitations (2007-2008 season) Cadet 1991 - 1994, or younger with Y-14 National points Jr. 1988-1994, or younger with Jr. National points Current competitive USFA Membership is required. Membership AND informed consent forms for minors require the signature of a parent or legal guardian, the coach may not sign. Membership and informed consent forms will be available at the venue. Payment for memberships is made directly to the USFA (bring separate checks for the tournament and USFA membership). Fencers are responsible for verifying information on all posted lists both prior to and during fencing. Fencers are required to fence in proper fencing attire; current USFA rules will apply. All events are electric. Weather: Normally day temperatures in Las Vegas are in the 60s, night temperatures are in the 40s. USFA, home country or FIE membership is required. For your convenience you can pay your USFA dues at the tournament or mail in with your entry. You must be a Nevada Division member to enter. USFA rules will be followed. All events are electric. Refunds must be received in writing (no e-mail) and received by November 22, 2007. Refunds will be processed after the tournament. The Nevada Junior Olympic Qualifiers is hosted by the Red Rock Fencing Center- http://www.redrockfencingcenter.com. This event is also designated as a Nevada Jr. and Cadet Vegas Cup event worth points towards the Golden Sword for your event. Preregistration opens on 11/06/2007.
