Hunger Games Invitational

This is an invitation event only. You must have an invitation from the All-American Fencing Academy through your club to participate. This tournament will not be your regular fencing tournament, but will be in the spirit of the book "The Hunger Games" 2 Fencers Per Club Must be a male and female Must be between the ages 12-18 Additional rules and challenges will be added to the tournament. Possible challenges that are selected at random: -30 seconds without ability to score -Nerf archers (-1 point if hit by arrow) -Nerf spearers (-1 point if hit by spear) -Double weapon (only one weapon can score) -30 push ups prior to bout -Epee rules, foil target -Fencing strip reduced to en garde line to en garde line (past en garde line is off the strip) -Touches can only be made between en garde lines (past en garde lines are 'safe zones' -Use of children's weapon -1 point bout -1 minute bout -After first 5 touches, 1 touch bout -Dead zones on opposing target (parts of target area covered by tape) -2 points for touches behind the back -Team mate that can fence along side you (but cannot score) -Mines (if a fencer steps on a mine, -1 point) -Opposite hand fencing Awards that "sponsors" (parents, friends, etc.) can purchase for their fencer during or before the bout: All sponsor purchases are $10 - +1 point (cannot be used for a winning touch) - -1 point for the opposing fencer (can put the opposing fencer into negative points) - 1 minute break with coaching allowed (no coaching for opposing fencer) - 1 movement on the elimination bracket (fencer can switch placement with any other fencer who has not yet fenced within the same round on the elimination bracket). - 1 minute additional fencing time Events Scheduled: Mixed Foil Preregistration opens on 01/17/2012.
