Junior Olympics Qualifiers - Gulf Coast Division

This is the Gulf Coast Texas Division's qualifying competitions for fencers who wish to compete in the February 2014 Junior Olympics Fencing Championships. Hosted by the Galveston Fencing Club. Also, this is the weekend of Dickens on the Strand which attracts many visitors to island's historic downtown Strand District. Please allow extra time for travel. Masks, bodycords and lames will be checked at the armory before competition. Waiver: All competitors must submit a copy of the Gulf Coast Division waiver of liability and consent to treat form. Format: Round-robin pools with 100% promotion to direct eliminations. Events with three or less competitors will not be fenced, but all three or fewer competitors will qualify. USFA/US Fencing Membership: Current competitive membership of the USFA required. Membership forms will be available at the venue. If your membership is not pre-validated, you must be prepared to show proof of USFA membership, or at the door, fill out a membership form and pay at that time. Persons under age 18 MUST have a parent's signature on the USFA form. Preregistration opens on 08/11/2013. Preregistration closes on 12/05/2013.
